Anthony Lapaglia AFI Award for Best Lead Actor
Anthony Lapaglia - Best Lead Actor Award

APL Photography ventured out to the big screen, snapping up the local talent on the red carpet, at the AFI Awards on Saturday.

The fashion was toned down compared to other extravagant events, with the celebrities opting for safe colours of black, white and silver, and generally modest styles.

Following the star’s official opening of Louis Vuitton in Chadstone, Toni Collette wore a black LV number to the ceremony.

Gold Logie winner, Kate Ritchie, wore a strapless silver J’Aton dress, while Pia Miranda and Holly Valance ditched the dark hues for shades of purple and pink respectively.

Anthony LaPaglia is new to the APL Photography folio, with the actor sporting a new bleached-blonde do and the AFI Award for Best Lead Actor in his role in Balibo.

Frances O’Connor was awarded the Best Lead Actress for her role in Blessed, and wore an elegant one-shouldered gown by Collette Dinnigan.

Vanessa Amorosi showed us who she was, with the singer showing her more playful side in her new rock-princess image, in a one-shouldered Linda Britten gown.

Amongst other stars, Anthony also snapped Kenny’s Shane Jacobson, Vince Colosimo, Baz Luhrmann, Bea Viegas and Sebastian Gregory.

The AFI Awards recognise and celebrate premier Australian film and television production, with this year being its biggest celebration yet.
