I’ve thrown in the towel…my search for good coffee is far too exhausting!
The APL Photography shoot with Larry Hankin is postponed due to illness of my subject (rescheduled for july 10th). I still have a busy day ahead. It seems APL Photography and Covet Magazine’s reputation has been far reaching in LA.
I have a successful string of meetings with potential clients, who have shown great response for Covet Magazine. Response in particular to the Covet Magazine concept has been incredible. I have requests from distributors and talent management agencies for copies of Covet’s next issue. It all looks very promising!
I toy with the idea of setting up a permanent base for APL Photography and Covet Magazine in LA. I scout around for an office space and think Weho, in West Hollywood will be ideal. Whilst searching I notice that everyone in this town is a would be actor. Demands for headshots run high amongst the starry eyed many. Is this something I’d like to do? Mmmmmm …..something to think about.
It’s still early afternoon and I decide to play tourist. I head to the iconic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and have an amazing time learning about the 83 years of the theatre’s history. Then to Beverly Hills to ogle at some homes. My favourite, a castle belonging to James Wilder,of Melrose Place fame. This home is extraordinary and seriously mind blowing.
Now the fun part of my trip, SHOPPING! The Beverly Centre is amazing, a shopper’s Mecca. I have a good run, in particular a health spree at Diesel. PS what is it about LA that all the ladies look like they’ve just stepped of a movie set?
So home to the Hollywood Roosevelt for a quick change and a quick dash to the gym. Tonight a last dinner with friends before I leave, and we’ve decided to head to another chic restaurant to dine, Mercato.
It’s been a very fulfilling trip. Some great work done and a lot of contacts made. Can’t wait to plan my next trip….and it’ll be very soon.
Tomorrow I leave to come home. Can’ wait to make you all jealous with my tan.
And if you would like to see pictures from my trip and work, head to the APL Photography website or my Facebook page.
