Saturday night saw the Palladium Ballroom at Crown Casino taken over by hundreds of celebrities and civilians; all ready to eat delicious food, dance the night away and dig deep in the name of a good cause. Of course, APL Photography was there as the official snappers of the event to catch all the glitz and glamour of the annual iSelect Fashion+Aid Ball.

The night began with a snap-happy session on the red carpet as we captured everyone from television to sport stars, as they gathered in fabulous frocks and sexy suits to raise money for Mission Australia – a charity that has helped countless Australians in time of need.

Getting down to the business at hand, hosts Kelly Landry and Jason Coleman encouraged the crowd to “give back” as roaming presenters collected audience pledges from $100 to $10,000 for the charity. Valuable items like pieces of art and sporting memorabilia were auctioned off before the big raffle gave some lucky winners incredible prizes like a new car.

Fashion+Aid has always prided itself as an “extravaganza of fashion, fine food and entertainment” and this year was no exception. Labels like Jason Grech, Kooey swimwear, Mina & Katusha, Lisa Brown, Black Betty and Stacey Christie wowed the crowd with a runway like no other – complete with dancing models and live performances in the mix – showing us their latest collections for spring and next month’s Spring Racing Carnival. The three-course dinner was prepared by established chefs, like George Columbaris of MasterChef and The Press Club fame. We snapped our own Jessica Mauboy as she sang three of her biggest hits as a special guest performance.

All in all, it was an indulgent night of fun and frivolity and we can’t wait to cover our next big event! Look out for all the pictures in our upcoming fourth issue of COVET.
